The event, organized by the Northern Ireland Science Park, is a celebration of breakthrough innovations from a range of start-up technology companies. Among the physics-based companies featured at the event was Photonic Measurements, who have come up with a portable spectrometer and app that can be used for testing water.

Another highly innovative product was CoolSafe360, an amazing improvement on an LED light bulb, designed by Jerry Kochansky.

Guests of IOP Ireland included Minister for Employment and Learning, Dr Stephen Farry and representatives from Seagate, Andor Technologies and Schrader Electronics, as well as colleagues from physics research and education.
