There was plenty of science on the streets of Dublin with the Institute of Physics and the Irish Science on Stage team during the recent Festival of Curiosity.

Among the activities were demonstrations of Archimedes’ principle, shown with a tug of war, Bernoulli’s principle, shown with a giant windbag, Faraday’s law of induction, shown with a simple motor, and a vortex blower, musical straws, windmills, rocket launching and much more.

The buskers moved around the streets of Temple Bar and then made their way to the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin. Over the same hot weekend, the team were also involved in the Maker Faire event on the lawns of Trinity College, with participants learning to make simple toys based on scientific principles.

It was definitely a weekend of fun for all the family.
