There was a dramatic finish to the 2010 IOP and Nexus Intervarsity Physics Quiz when the cup was won, for the second year running, by UCC who knocked out UCD in a 'sudden-death' question after a tie in the head-to-head round. The quiz was held on Friday evening 26 February at 7pm at the Tyndall Institute in Cork.

Dr John White from UCD once again performed the quiz master with great aplomb. Teams entered from TCD, UCC, NUIG, CIT and UCD and once the cup had been presented the competition moved to an extablishment across the road from the Tyndall and continued with further competitive socialising into the small hours!

The quiz was half physics half general knowledge and the perpetual prize was a large silver plated trophy. There was a travel grant available from the IOP for the visiting teams to support their teams to travel to this event and the Ispire from the Tyndall Institute kindly sponsored the winning team's prizes.
