Medal for first place in Leaving Certificate and Northern Ireland A Level

For first place students

Each year the Institute of Physics in Ireland awards a silver medal to the student in first place in the Leaving Certificate and Northern Ireland A Level examinations.

The award was made at a special assembly recognising Manvi's achievement and those of Victoria College's participants in the Physics Olympiad qualifying rounds. The Headmistress of Victoria College Ms Patricia Slevin and Manvi's A-level teacher Miguel Robinson, Head of Physics, are also present. Manvi is studying Medicine at Queen's University Belfast.

IOP silver medals for first place in 2009 Leaving Certificate Physics and GCE A-Level Physics

The IOP award for the highest level of achievement in physics in the 2009 Leaving Certificate physics examination was awarded to Rebecca Feeney-Barry from St Columba's College. Ms Feeny Barry is now studying science in Trinity College Dublin.

The medal was presented at a ceremony at the RDS on 1st February where the Tyndall Lecture was being presented.

The IOP award for the highest level of achievement in physics in the 2009 GCE A Level Physics was Manvi Singhal from Victoria College, Belfast. Medal to be presented shortly.
